DOE Media Partners With Pure Green to Drive Growth in eCommerce & Brick and Mortar Using Comprehensive Digital Strategies
Pure Green is a leading brand in the health and wellness industry, offering cold-pressed juices, shots, açaí, and smoothies through both brick-and-mortar locations and eCommerce platforms. The brand also serves sports teams and corporate clients, providing the highest-quality, nutrient-rich beverages.
In 2024, we were lucky enough to get the opportunity to partner with Pure Green to work on franchise marketing, focusing on franchise stores, foot traffic, corporate store marketing, and lead generation.
Pure Green had scores of untapped potential waiting to be unleashed
Fragmented Customer Engagement
Pure Green lacked a cohesive, omnichannel marketing strategy that integrated email, SMS, and the wide range of available digital ad platforms. This led to missed opportunities for customer retention and acquisition.
A Website That Wasn’t Working for Them
Pure Green’s website lacked modern eCommerce functionalities, such as pop-ups and mix-and-match bundle options, which could enhance the customer shopping experience and help drive sales.
Minimal Presence on Important Channels
The brand had minimal engagement with digital marketing platforms such as Google and Meta (Facebook & Instagram), limiting their online reach and potential eCommerce sales.
You Don’t Have Emails From Pure Green
Despite having a significant customer base eager to hear from one of their favorite brands, Pure Green had only sent one email in the three years prior to partnering with DOE. The lone email was sent in 2021 and only generated $127 in revenue. This lack of communication led to missed opportunities for customer engagement and potential sales.
A Full Rolodex, But No Outgoing Calls
Pure Green’s email list was outdated, with a high bounce rate of 5%, which negatively impacted their sender reputation score, resulting in poor deliverability and inflating costs. With no regular email communication and minimal customer email information tracking, the business lacked insights into when people subscribed or what their preferences were for email communications.
paving a new path towards digital growth
After identifying the opportunities available, we implemented a comprehensive digital strategy that addressed Pure Green’s challenges and positioned them for significant growth.
A DIGITAL HOME RENOVATION

We began by addressing the company’s website, updating it with a modern look and adding various features to enhance the online customer experience:
A Fresh New Site
Redesigned the Pure Green website, incorporating a mix-and-match bundle feature allowing customers to build their own cases, catering to both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) customers.
new pop-up strategy using AMPED improves subscriber conversion rates
A/B tested two pop-ups:
1. A mini quiz to gather subscriber preferences.
2. An offer of 10% off with the submission of a review.
delivery service integration
Assisted with the launch of a delivery service through GoPuff to expand reach and convenience for customers.

email marketing overhaul
- Cleaned and validated a 14,000-subscriber email list–reducing bounce rate, improving deliverability, and reducing costs with Klaviyo.
- Launched and structured their first email campaign in three years, starting with Cinco de Mayo 2024. We utilized both visually appealing and plain text email formats to maximize engagement. The Cinco de Mayo email included a new content strategy, incorporating a recipe for a Soul Kick Margarita, providing more value to subscribers beyond sales pitches and product announcements.
- Continued the strategy of sending both visual and plain text emails on a consistent cadence. Each campaign started with a visual email, followed two days later by a plain text email.
- Developed a new automated welcome series for email subscribers where subscribers received an automatic welcome email with a 10% discount, followed by emails highlighting bestsellers, reviews, superfoods, and abandoned cart reminders.
- Started sending a mix of different types of emails to engage and inform subscribers. This included sales tied to social holidays and education content about superfoods.
OMNICHANNEL PRESENCE
Comprehensive Digital Advertising & New Sales Channels
With a new website designed to provide the best possible user experience (UX), and an optimized email list powered by a series of new automated campaigns, we turned our focus to address the opportunities that would take Pure Green to the next level:
- Established a long-term marketing calendar to be fully prepared for future campaigns well before their launch—ensuring consistent and strategic communications with customers.
- Implemented full lifecycle management, including form and landing page optimization, email and SMS automations, and outbound marketing campaigns.
- Developed SMS campaigns to complement email marketing, focusing on early access to sales for repeat customers and supporting welcome and abandoned cart flows.
- Launched SMS campaigns in tandem with the first email in three years for Cinco de Mayo.
- Rolled out Google Performance Max and Shopping ads, along with Facebook and Instagram ads, to boost both eCommerce sales and drive foot traffic to physical locations.
- Created a robust user-generated content (UGC) strategy and developed creative, social-first content, including founder videos, to enhance brand storytelling and customer engagement.
- Previously, Pure Green did not have email or SMS campaigns; now they had both integrated into their marketing strategy.
- Helped increase purchases to MLB, NFL, and NBA organizations by leveraging connections with nutritionists in locker rooms.

Increased Engagement and Revenue with Optimized Email Performance:
- Achieved a 73% open rate and a 27.84% click-through rate (CTR) on Pride campaign emails.
- Klaviyo attributed a 37% increase in revenue from June 2024 to July 2024, with email campaigns contributing to 60% of the revenue.
- Exit intent pop-ups achieved a 5.57% opt-in rate, significantly boosting subscriber growth.
- Doubled the email capture rate using AMPED, leading to a more engaged and responsive subscriber base.
- Regular pop-ups averaged a 2-4% conversion rate, but the use of AMPED consistently doubled this. Sign-up conversion rate improved from 3.24% in Klaviyo to 6.21% with AMPED.
- The plain text email strategy resulted in open rates of 70-80%, significantly higher than the industry average, and consistently higher click-through-rates (CTR).

Enhanced eCommerce Performance:
- Online revenue increased by 100% with the introduction of the mix-and-match bundle feature, contributing to higher Average Order Value (AOV).
- Successfully drove more location visits and calls, boosting foot traffic to physical stores.
